Artist's statement for the piece:

The ‘toes on the nose’ or ‘hanging ten’ is just one of the fleeting, graceful aspirations of long board surfing.

Being in the ocean, surfing waves is a moving meditation. It is a simple way of reconnecting with nature, being in awe of the power of the ocean and dancing with it for a brief moment.

Cast bronze with ferric nitrate patina on stainless steel base.
