The Female Portrait

  • Flaxton Gardens 313-327 Flaxton Drive Flaxton, QLD, 4560 Australia (map)

In this workshop, participants will sculpt the female portrait in clay. Working from the live model we’ll examine key structures and features of the head and face. We’ll explore techniques to work with hand and tools to capture the likeness, gesture and expression of the model. Construction of the portrait in clay will permit the work to be properly dried and fired. Works can be kiln fired at additional cost.

This 2-day workshop will start at 9:00am sharp and finish at 3:30pm each day. All materials, tools and modelling stand will be provided. The cost of materials and model fees are included. Works can be fired at additional cost.

The cost of the workshop is $250.00 including GST. Lunch, coffee and other refreshments will be available for purchase from the Flaxton Gardens café and restaurant.

The workshop will take place in view of the public as part of the many activities associated with Sculpture on the Edge 2023.

Reserve your place by going to the Arts Connect Inc Humanitix website here.
